Doctors tell how the first symptoms of COVID-19 have changed
The first symptoms of coronavirus in patients this fall differ from those that doctors observed in previous waves. Now the disease has become similar to the flu, Russian doctors told the Public News Service.
“The temperature behaves like a flu, but it lasts longer,” said doctor Alexander Ediger.
Also, those infected are more likely to have a severe runny nose. Pain and sore throat turn into a cough that develops quickly and lasts a long time. In addition, there is an abundant secretion of sputum.
Neurological symptoms are also expressed. Patients complain of dizziness, migraines, weakness. Some infected people faint when they try to stand up suddenly. It is noted that all these symptoms appear almost at the onset of the disease – maximum on the second day – and last for weeks.
The head of the Trade Union of Paramedics and an ambulance worker Dmitry Belyakov also added that the disease is becoming more rapid. Moreover, it is no less dangerous than it was before.
The doctors noted that the previous symptoms also remain. Most often these are digestive disorders, abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting.
Earlier, Finnish experts said that the simultaneous infection with coronavirus and influenza is extremely dangerous. In this case, the risk of severe illness increases significantly. Doctors advise getting the coronavirus and flu vaccine at the same time.
