Juliana Chiumento was standing at the ticket counter when she received a voicemail from her father. “Fly out Saturday morning,” he said. And ironically, she followed his advice.
Juliana was minutes away from taking her seat on the VoePass passenger jet that crashed in São Paulo state, killing everyone on board on August 9.
“At the last minute, my father sent me a message when I was already at the counter, about to get my ticket and board,” she said. “God told my father to send this message so that I would not fly on Friday, but on Saturday morning.”
Zhuliana was planning to board a flight to attend a special training program. But in a message, her father, Altermere Chiumento, said: “So, my dear, if you can fly on Saturday, fly on Saturday morning. It's better that way. You'll be more relaxed, calm and at ease. Get there in the afternoon, rest and see if you can move it to Saturday. If you can, go for it.”
A few hours later, she learned that some of her friends were among the victims of the crash.
The twin-engine turboprop plane was flying from the southern state of Paraná to São Paulo when it went down 80 kilometers northwest of the city in Vinhedo.
She said: “Thank God, I have a lot of support and everyone is giving me so much strength. But I need come back. I live in Rio de Janeiro, where I study. I always travel back and forth between Rio and Cascavel, with a stop in Guarulhos. Every time I go to this airport or get on a plane, I remember the blessing God has given me.”
Altermir added: “It was parental intuition. I have so many reasons to be grateful.”
Recall that it is unknown what exactly caused the plane crash. The other day, local authorities confirmed that all the bodies found at the crash site have been removed. Some of them have already been identified.
