NHK: DPRK ballistic missile falls outside Japan's exclusive economic zone

Launched by the DPRK on Wednesday, January 5, a ballistic missile, according to preliminary data, fell outside the exclusive economic zone of Japan. Details were disclosed by NHK, citing government sources.
The rocket fell into the Sea of Japan, fishing vessels warned to be careful not to approach the wreckage.
Earlier, the Renhap agency, citing a representative of the Chiefs of Staff of the South Korean Armed Forces, reported that the DPRK had launched an unidentified shell towards the Sea of Japan. It was assumed to be a ballistic missile.
The last time the DPRK fired two unidentified shells in the direction of the Sea of Japan on October 19. It is clarified that one rocket was fired near the city of Sinpo in Hamgennam-do province. The information was later confirmed by the Committee of the Chiefs of Staff of the South Korean Armed Forces. The Japanese authorities, in turn, created a crisis headquarters under the Kishida office.
