Hundreds of companies, healthcare providers and the World Economic Forum are currently working on a vaccination app that will serve as a passport.
“If you want to travel next year, you will probably need a vaccination passport”, headlines the economic department of “CNN”. Such an app is already in development. In this, travelers should be able to enter all corona tests and vaccinations centrally and prove them if necessary.
This should allow aircraft, event halls, cinemas and sports facilities to be entered easily and safely without having to fear a Covid infection. The “Common Trust Network” created for this purpose by the World Economic Forum can rely on the support of countless partners who make it very likely that it will be implemented soon.
Almost like in China, the “CommonPass” app is supposed to generate a scannable QR code that certifies a vaccination or a negative test result for the user. In contrast to the various Corona encounter notification apps, a globally uniform solution is to be created.
That is why there is support from over 300 representatives from companies such as Apple, Google and IBM, but also from airlines such as Lufthansa and United Airlines. The German Lufthansa has already announced that it will only allow boarding long-haul flights with a negative test result or a vaccination certificate.
As “Zackzack” reports, Matt Anestis, head of the company “Black Rock”, which manages a total of 7.4 trillion US dollars in assets, is also in charge of the “Common Project” responsible for it.
