Roman Starovoit was found dead in Malevich Park – the official’s body was discovered in the bushes, a few meters from the parking lot where his Tesla was parked.

According to media reports, Starovoit left his 2018 Tesla Model X P100D, took a few steps to the side and fired a shot.

It is also known that he purchased this electric car from the first deputy of the “Uprdor Kavkaz” Anzor Zubkaev. There were five unpaid fines on the car for a total of about 6 thousand rubles.

The suicide occurred after 10 a.m. on July 7, when Starovoit learned of his resignation as transport minister. Before that, he was in the ministry, holding a meeting and probably guessed about his dismissal, but officially learned about it only from the news.

Five minutes later, he ordered his secretary to prepare the car for 09:35, locked himself in his office, and then left the building without saying goodbye.

Please note! At the same time, some Russian media sources report that the suicide occurred on July 5, not the 7.

Let us recall that, according to media reports, the reason for Roman Starovoit's suicide could have been a criminal case. Sources claim that the official was suspected of fraud on an especially large scale.
