The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry provided a comment on Russian narratives and accusations of supporting rebel movements in Mali.
Ukraine resolutely rejects the accusations that some international media have recently spread regarding our country's alleged involvement in the supply of UAVs to rebels in Mali.
This was stated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“We also categorically deny all accusations that are periodically made by high-ranking officials of the Republic of Mali and the Republic of Niger, of Ukraine's alleged involvement in “cooperation with terrorists”, “supplying weapons to terrorists and providing them with information”, “supporting terrorist activities by Ukraine”, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted.
Earlier, the Ministry had already provided a lengthy refutation of such accusations and expressed regret over the decision of Mali and Niger to sever diplomatic relations with our state on the basis of far-fetched and unfounded assumptions.
“In this context, we also reject all accusations against Ukraine of allegedly our state's involvement in the entry into the Sahel region of weapons and military equipment supplied to Ukraine by its allies to counter the ongoing armed aggression of the Russian Federation,” the Foreign Ministry noted.
They called for an end to the dissemination of false information that repeats the false narratives of the propaganda of the aggressor state Russia in the context of the baseless accusations of the governments of Mali and Niger against Ukraine.
Earlier it became known that Mali broke off diplomatic relations with Ukraine, accusing Kiev of “supporting Tuareg rebels.”
