The Danish referee Nils Heer prevented a huge chance with his whistle. His anger over it went viral.
A curious situation arose in the second-highest Danish league on Sunday. The focus was on an actor who, ideally, can only be seen little: the referee. In the duel between Vendsyssel and Fredericia, however, the referee Nils Heer moved into the spotlight and went viral a little later.
The reason? Heer had whistled off an attack by Fredericia in the 29th minute, when the score was 1-0 for the home side, who had not been successful up until this game. Instead of giving an advantage, he interrupted the action and thus prevented a good chance of equalizing. So it's no wonder that the guest players were annoyed.
This is crazy … referee doesn't play advantage and realizes very quickly that was a huge mistake 🤯 pic.twitter.com/IN7FndMqmO

Emotional response
But apparently Heer himself was annoyed the most. The referee clapped his hands over his face and sank to the ground. Heer's emotional reaction let the anger of the players evaporate quickly, and they even tried to rebuild him a little.
With the hoped-for equalization, it should then work just eight minutes later, the game ended 1: 1. The day after, however, the fans were less focussed on Army than the result.
