The head of the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee (Main Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee) for the Moscow Region, Alexander Starikov, on the air of the Russia-24 TV channel, revealed details about the investigation into the escape of five prisoners from the temporary detention center (IVS) in Istra.

The representative of the State Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee reported that the investigation into the participation of ex-employees of the IVS in the escape has been completed. According to him, no evidence has been found for this charge.

“We have completed the investigation in fact against the staff of the IVS. We came to the conclusion that there is no intentional complicity, which would be a criminal complicity, we have not received such evidence, “Starikov stressed.

At the same time, Starikov added that the department has a sufficient amount of evidence of the negligent attitude of ex-employees of the IVS to their duties.

“As far as I have already been informed, there have already been taken some measures to ensure that the situation associated with the load and some technical moments that could prevent all these phenomena, changed,” he said.

Earlier, the Istra court in the Moscow region received the materials of the case on the escape from the IVS in Istra, in connection with which the charges were brought against three ex-policemen under part 3 of Article 286 “Excessive powers, entailing grave consequences.”

In September, the detained head of the Istra IVS facility, Andrei Starshinov, pleaded guilty after the escape of five prisoners. He stated that the crime he was charged with allowed the prisoners to escape.

On the night of August 6, five prisoners escaped from the isolation ward in Istra: Alexander Mavridi, accused of the murder of the “sausage king” Vladimir Marugov, Nikolai Teterya, Alexander Butnaru, Ivan Turcanu and Denis Grozavu. It is assumed that they opened the door with a wrench. Four out of five escaped people were detained back in August. Mavridi was detained on September 13 in Moscow.
