Russia Today: the TV channel understands the situation with the detention of the correspondent Obishchenko

Freelance correspondent of the Russian TV channel Russia Today Stanislav Obishchenko was detained by the military when he and his team were filming military equipment on Republic Square in Alma-Ata. About the Telegram-channel “RT in Russian” with reference to the producer of the TV channel Mikhail Krasnov.
“The team came from Nur-Sultan to Alma-Ata, after which they went to shoot several shots in the church and then went to Republic Square to pick up military equipment. A car with military men drove up, put it on its knees, threatened with machine guns and forced to go into the car, ”Krasnov said.
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that the department had been notified of the arrest of the Russian journalist and was examining the situation. The Russian Consulate General in Kazakhstan announced that it is in contact with Kazakhstani law enforcement officers to detain Obishchenko.
The detention of Obishchenko became known on January 8. It was clarified that the Kazakh military carried out a harsh arrest against the Russia Today correspondent.
