The younger version of the iPhone 12 series smartphone will receive a reduced screen cutout for Face ID. This is reported by MacRumors, citing a report by authoritative insider Ming-Chi Kuo.
The analyst said that the cheapest model in the series with a 5.4-inch display – the iPhone 12 – will have a reduced screen notch. This will increase the usable space at the top of the screen. At the same time, the other three smartphones of the line will receive screens with the same design as previous Apple smartphones.
Also, Min-Chi Ko revealed other details about the new smartphones of the American brand. In particular, Apple has decided not to increase the display frequency on flagships to 120 hertz so that this function does not reduce the autonomy of devices. At the same time, the insider is sure that a similar feature will appear in the iPhone, scheduled for 2021.
According to an insider, this year Apple will unveil four flagship smartphones – all models will receive an OLED display and 5G support. According to a recent report from Min-Chi Ko, the company will equip its devices with support for two fifth-generation communication standards – mmWave high-frequency band and sub-6 GHz low-frequency band.
Apple previously announced the date for its annual fall presentation. New gadgets and products of the company will be presented on September 15 at 20:00 Moscow time. The new Apple Watch and iPad are expected to be announced at the event, with the iPhone 12 series smartphones to be shown later.
