A titanium ball with text in Russian, found in the Bahamas, turned out to be a Ukrainian-made balloon-balloon for the American Antares rocket. Vadim Lukashevich, an expert in the field of astronautics, said this in a conversation with RIA Novosti.
“We can’t say that there would be a Yuzhmash stamp, but it looks very much like a helium cylinder inside a liquid oxygen tank. And the temperature gets it, ”Lukashevich said.
According to him, the last launch of Antares took place on February 20. Rocket launches are carried out from the American island of Wallops, the flight route runs north of the Bahamas. “The first stage falls into the ocean, collapses, and then this tank, like a float,“ sprouts ”on some beach,” the expert explained.
A metal ball found in the Bahamas became known earlier on March 1. A tourist from Great Britain saw him on one of the beaches. An inscription in Russian was engraved on the ball. Space experts came to the conclusion that this is a high-pressure tank – part of the upper stage, the means of launching a spacecraft into orbit.
