Designer designed a third eye for smartphone addicts
Smartphone addiction can lead to injury in some people. Those who like to keep their eyes on the screen while walking may fall or bump into something. Design student Minwuk Paeng proposed his own solution to this problem – he invented a prototype of a robotic eye that will warn gadget lovers of danger, writes the Daily Star .
It is assumed that the device should be mounted on the forehead. It has built-in sensors that monitor the situation in front of a person. The robot eye is based on an Arduino board with a gyroscope.
When a person tilts his head down to look at the phone screen, the “eyelid” of the eye opens and the observation mode is activated using an ultrasonic sensor. In case of approaching an obstacle, he will warn of the danger with a signal.
Recall that in January this year, a psychologist listed the signs of smartphone addiction. And in 2018, American scientists identified a link between time spent on the phone and feelings of loneliness.
