After the Tyrolean Alexander Erler, the second best Austrian in the ATP ranking after the convalescent Dominic Thiem has now received a wildcard for Kitzbühel as expected: Dennis Novak, who is currently in 122nd place in the world rankings, is in the main field of the General Open for the ninth time from July 24th to 31st. So far he has made it to the last sixteen three times.
“To pitch in Kitzbühel is always something very special,” said 27-year-old Novak happily. He also received a good dress rehearsal for Austria's largest clay court tournament, because he also slipped into the main field at the ATP 250 tournament in Gstaad and can adjust to the altitude at the home tournament there.

The only 18 year old Lukas Neumayer from Salzburg received a “free ticket” for the qualification. Neumayer, who also trains with Günter Bresnik, is to be supported in the transition from the juniors to the ATP level. He will play his first ATP match.
