On December 21, 13,000 cases of coronavirus were detected in Denmark – this is a new daily maximum of infections since the beginning of the pandemic. Most patients are infected with the new Omicron strain.
This was stated by Minister of Health Magnus Choinicke, writes DR.
According to him, over the past 24 hours, 13,558 new coronavirus infections have been detected in the country, which is the largest indicator since the beginning of the epidemic. Before that, Denmark registered the previous maximum infections on December 17 – a little more than 11 thousand.
According to the Institute of Public Health, the Omicron strain has already become dominant in the country, and its share will continue to grow. >
It should be noted that earlier in Denmark they decided to introduce strict quarantine against the background of the rapid spread of the Omicron strain. Every day, the country is recording a record number of cases of coronavirus. Therefore, the Danish government has decided to close cinemas, theaters, concert halls. Restaurants and nightclubs must close at 23:00 and no alcohol sales will be allowed after 22:00.
