I highly appreciate the decision to allocate an additional 22 million euros to strengthen the security sector of Ukraine. This is a manifestation of true friendship,” wrote Kuleba.
In turn, Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofoda, who visited the JFO zone the day before, called on the Russian Federation to de-escalate the situation. “Denmark fully supports Ukrainian sovereignty. Denmark's new contribution to mine action and the stabilization program continues,” the Danish Foreign Minister wrote on his Twitter page.
The support is provided as a new stage of the Danish Peace and Stabilization Program for Ukraine for the period 2022-2025. In particular, 10.75 million euros are contributed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, 11.3 million – by the Ministry of Defense of Denmark.
The Danish Ministry of Defense notes that part of these funds will be used to strengthen security and unity in the eastern regions of Ukraine. In addition, support is being provided for Ukraine's defense reform and building Ukrainian defense capabilities.
