A Danish court has ordered the release of former Danish military intelligence chief Lars Findsen on charges of leaking data. It is reported by Reuters.
According to informants, the released ex-head and a number of high-ranking officials were involved in crimes that could damage the welfare of the country and its relations with other states.
Edition Seog Hoer notes that the Eastern Supreme Court, having considered the appeal, decided to release the accused from custody, since the likelihood of him committing similar crimes is minimal. The police continue to investigate.
Findsen has been in custody since December 9, 2021. However, he was removed from his post in August 2020. He was accused of involvement in the leak of “highly secret” information, as well as failure to take measures to identify signs of espionage within the Ministry of Defense. The intelligence chief denied all allegations.
