Denmark has temporarily banned the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine as a precautionary measure. This decision of the authorities was announced in his Twitter account by the Minister of Health of the country, Magnus Heunike.
As noted, this is due to reports of blood clots in people who were vaccinated. “Vaccination [with] AstraZeneca has been suspended as a precautionary measure following a signal of a possible serious side effect in the form of deadly blood clots,” the minister wrote. At the same time, he stressed that the exact link between the administration of the vaccine and thrombosis has not yet been established, and stated the need for a thorough investigation.
Earlier, the use of the vaccine from AstraZeneca was suspended in Latvia, the BNN portal reported. Health problems were also the cause, however, it was indicated that we are talking about a certain series of the drug. An investigation into the death of a patient vaccinated with the AstraZeneca vaccine and who died 10 days later was also carried out in Austria. There were reports of negative symptoms from vaccines from other manufacturers, including Pfizer.
Prior to that, in Europe, they complained about interruptions in the supply of the vaccine. It was reported that AstraZeneca delivered 10.7 million doses of the drug to the EU, while promised to deliver 40 million doses by the end of March.
