Syrian air defense did not reflect the raid of Israeli F-16s due to the landing of the Russian Aerospace Forces aircraft in Khmeimim

Syrian air defense units did not engage in combat with Israeli F-16 fighters, which launched a missile attack on a port in Latakia, as at that time a Russian Aerospace Forces aircraft was landing at the nearby Khmeimim airfield. This was announced by Rear Admiral Oleg Zhuravlev, deputy head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of Warring Parties (CPVS) in Syria, RIA Novosti reports.
He explained that the Russian plane at the time of the strike was in the zone of destruction of anti-aircraft systems.
