Defender entered the port of Jeddah two weeks after the incident near Crimea

The British destroyer Defender left the Black Sea, follows from the data of the Marine Traffic website, which tracks the movement of ships.

The vessel is currently in the port of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia on the Red Sea coast.

As reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense, on June 23, the British ship Defender violated the Russian maritime border in the area of Cape Fiolent in the Crimea. The destroyer did not respond to the warning from the patrol ship, and the Russian Su-24M dropped several bombs along the ship's course to force it to change course. After that, the British ship left the waters of Russia.

The British military has denied warning firing on the course of their ship. They suggested that the Russian military was conducting training exercises in the Black Sea, while the destroyer Defender was making “a peaceful passage through the territorial waters of Ukraine.”

The press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov called the incident with the violation of the borders a planned provocation, which is unacceptable and does not comply with international law. According to British Chief of Defense Staff Nicholas Carter, the destroyer's actions were a miscalculation, as they could cause an “inappropriate escalation” between Britain and Russia.

Two days after the incident, the ship entered the Georgian port of Batumi.
