- On July 4, military enterprises were attacked in Russia: the Azov Optical and Mechanical Plant (AOMZ) and the Research Institute of Applied Chemistry.
- AOMZ produces laser homing heads for bombs and missiles, and the research institute specializes in the development of solid fuels for missiles and thermobaric munitions.
- The research institute also creates thermobaric-shrapnel warheads for the Shaheds with balls, which are installed en masse on drones by the occupiers.

In Russia, military enterprises were successfully attacked on the night of July 4. We are talking about the “Azov Optical-Mechanical Plant” in the Rostov Region and the “Research Institute of Applied Chemistry” in the city of Sergiev Posad in the Moscow Region.
This was reported by 24 Channel with reference to Defense Express.

Journalists emphasized that drones similar to the Iranian Shahed-136, as well as FP-1 drones, were probably used to strike AOMZ in the city of Azov, near Rostov-on-Don. The latter has a declared strike range of up to 1,600 kilometers and can carry up to 120 kilograms of explosives.

The footage that the occupiers distributed online shows drones hitting the AOMZ enterprise itself.
The publication notes that the Azov Optical and Mechanical Plant, according to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, is responsible for the production of optical, laser and electronic systems, as well as components in missile and anti-tank weapons, homing heads, thermal imaging and thermal location equipment, optical-electronic products, and the like.
The most well-known products of “AOMZ” are semi-active laser homing heads for Russian bombs KAB-500L and KAB-1500L (not to be confused with UPMK kits), missiles Kh-29L and R-27T. Also known is the work of this enterprise on the homing head of the Kh-38 missile. Obviously, this also concerns a significant part of laser and television homing heads, for which “AOMZ” is responsible, – the article says.
Journalists also write that the “Research Institute of Applied Chemistry” in Sergiev Posad was most likely hit only by FP-1 drones. Among the targets of the attack was its transformer substation. As a result of the strike on the substation, the power supply to the enterprise was suspended, and accordingly, its work.
“This Russian research institute, despite its name, is engaged, according to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, in the development and production of solid fuels for rockets and explosives. Its most famous developments are various thermobaric munitions,” Defense Express notes.
We are talking about combat units for the entire range of similar Russian weapons: from the Shmel grenade launchers to the Solntsepёk heavy flamethrower system.
In addition, it is this enterprise that developed and produces the thermobaric-shrapnel warhead for the TB BC-50 Shahed missiles.
