Decisive for Russian air operations: UK intelligence on the defeat of the A-50 aircraft

by alex

At the airport in Machulishchi, a Russian A-50 aircraft was damaged as a result of a “pop”. British intelligence considers it important for Russian air operations.

If the A-50 is damaged, it will limit Russian air operations. Previously, the BYPOL group reported that two explosions damaged the front and center, avionics and radar antenna of the aircraft.

What was the significance of the damaged Russian aircraft A-50

British intelligence noted that the role of the A-50 aircraft:

  • create a recognizable picture of the air situation;
  • ensure coordination of actions of neighboring fighters.

Although the damage has not been officially confirmed. However, the loss of the A-50 will be significant for Russia as the aircraft is critical to Russian air operations to provide a picture of the airspace, British intelligence said.

According to them, as a result of this situation, 6 serviceable A-50s will probably remain in the ranks of Russia.

“…Which will further limit Russian air operations,” the intelligence officers said.

Note! Because of the explosions in Machulishchi, Lukashenka's security forces began to look for the “guilty”. In particular, a local resident Kristina Maksimenko was detained. In addition, they are looking for Nikolai Shvets, a 29-year-old native of the temporarily occupied Crimea. BYPOL noted that the man whom the security forces are looking for is not connected with the explosions in Belarus.

Explosions in Machulishchi: briefly

  • On February 26, two explosions were heard at the military airfield in Machulishchi. According to BYPOL, they damaged the Russian A-50 aircraft, including the front and center parts, avionics and radar antenna. There are only 9 such planes in Russia. The price of one is $330 million.
  • Moreover, the head of BYPOL, which does not support the Lukashenka regime, Oleksandr Azarov, said that the Russian A-50 aircraft was conducting reconnaissance of the territory of Ukraine. Together with him, hypersonic missile systems “Dagger” rose into the air. It was he who brought these missiles.
  • Belarusian partisans took responsibility for the explosions. Moreover, they promised a sequel. Preparation for the actions of Belarusian partisans takes 3-4 months.
