Austria is investigating the circumstances of the death of a patient vaccinated with the vaccine company AstraZeneca and who died 10 days later. This is reported by ORF with reference to the Federal Office for Health Safety.
According to the newspaper, experts will conduct an autopsy and find out whether the vaccine could lead to the death of a 49-year-old woman.
As it became known a day earlier, in Austria, vaccination was suspended with a drug from the batch from which the deceased nurse was inoculated. Another unusual case is associated with the same party – a 35-year-old patient, also a medical worker, developed pulmonary embolism.
Earlier it was reported that Austria wanted to produce the Russian vaccine “Sputnik V” and began negotiations on this matter. The country is also considering purchasing the vaccine if approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA).
