Kevin de Bruyne survived the facial surgery well
Kevin de Bruyne was the last player from the Belgian national soccer team to arrive at the European Championships in Tubize after his facial surgery. “This is fantastic news,” said team principal Roberto Martinez on Monday. The Manchester City professional had broken his nose and eye socket in the Champions League final against Chelsea (0: 1) in a clash with Antonio Rüdiger.
The 29-year-old is fine after his operation on Saturday, reported Martinez. “He'll need a few more days, but if we get the green light from the medical department, we'll integrate him into team training.” According to the current status, the offensive star is not yet planned for the opening game of the Belgians at the European Championship against Russia on June 12th. “But he's there and very enthusiastic and motivated,” said Martinez. Without De Bruyne, the “Red Devils” won their dress rehearsal against Vice World Champions Croatia 1-0 on Sunday.
