Great success for darts star Mensur Suljovic! At the home European championships in Salzburg, the 49-year-old made it to the round of 16.
The Viennese finished the Englishman Adam Hunt in the Salzburg-Aren with 6: 2 and is in the last sixteen.
Defending champion Peter Wright would have been waiting there, but the top favorite surprisingly flew out 3: 6 against the German Florian Hempel.
The round of 16 will take place on Saturday. Should Suljovic also overcome this hurdle, he would no longer be deprived of prize money of 23,000 euros.
Incidentally, his best result at the European Championship is reaching the finals in 2016. Suljovic naturally wants to top that on home soil.
