Gritsenko clarified that with a voltage surge, the charger can cause a fire in the gadget and pose a danger to the health and life of the user. This is because fake accessories use poor quality parts.
The expert said that the power supply and charging cable must have the necessary certificates, which describe information about the device, and meet all safety requirements. “Any curvature of the connectors, traces on the metal is a reason to doubt the originality and safety of the cord,” Gritsenko said. According to him, on the cable you need to look for marks about where the product was developed and produced, as well as a 12-digit serial number.
When choosing a charger, you should pay attention to the build quality. “Make sure that the charging unit is assembled neatly, without gaps, marks or streaks on metal parts,” the specialist said. You should not chase the profit and buy supposedly original chargers at a price significantly lower than in official retail.
