Several participants in the Men's World Cup in Calgary have contracted the virus.
Because of several corona cases, the World Curling Federation WCF has stopped playing at the Men's World Championships in Calgary for the time being. After the positive corona test results, you are now following the prescribed protocol, the WCF announced on Saturday. The playoff game of the final round between the USA and Switzerland, scheduled for 5 p.m. (CET), could not take place as planned.
“All play-off teams will be tested on Saturday morning. Until the results are clear and it is known that the players are safe, no further games will be played,” the statement said. The health and safety of all World Cup participants would have priority. The other World Cup program also included the semi-finals on Saturday as well as the game for third place (Sunday) and the final (Monday / CET).
