“This decision was unanimously adopted by the committee of epidemiologists in connection with the improvement of the epidemiological situation in the country. On the basis of the recommendation, the government decided that the mandatory wearing of a mask indoors, without exception, and the ability to move on the street without a mask, if there is no congestion, remains. This measure has been in effect since 5 am on June 24, ”Hardalias said.
At the same time, a member of the commission of epidemiologists, professor of pediatric infectious diseases of the Kapodistrian National University of Athens, Van Papaevangelu, noted that this decision does not mean that protective masks should be thrown away. According to her, the heat prevailing in the country makes it difficult to wear them. In making the decision, the commissioners took into account many factors, including the rate of vaccination and data on the circulation of mutated strains of infection, Papaevangelu said.
Hardalias added that from Monday, June 28, at 5 am, the country will lift the restriction on movement. A number of other restrictions will also be removed or relaxed.

Earlier it became known that Greece extended until June 26 the procedure for the entry of foreigners and allowed entry with an express test instead of a negative PCR test for COVID-19, according to an inter-ministerial decision published on Saturday in the government gazette.
