This measure has been in effect since 5 am on June 24, ”Hardalias said.

At the same time, a member of the commission of epidemiologists, professor of pediatric infectious diseases of the Kapodistrian National University of Athens, Van Papaevangelu, noted that this decision does not mean that protective masks should be thrown away. According to her, the heat prevailing in the country makes it difficult to wear them. In making the decision, the commissioners took into account many factors, including the rate of vaccination and data on the circulation of mutated strains of infection, Papaevangelu said.

Hardalias added that from Monday, June 28, at 5 am, the country will lift the restriction on movement. A number of other restrictions will also be removed or relaxed.
