CSTO Secretary General: organized groups with terrorist goals operated in Kazakhstan

Well-organized groups operated in Kazakhstan, pursuing terrorist goals. They used pre-prepared weapons. This was stated by the Secretary General of the organization Stanislav Zas on the air of the Belarus-1 TV channel, RIA Novosti writes.
“There was noted the action of groups not only of a criminal nature – bandits, marauders – but also of organized armed groups that were already pursuing other goals, one might say, terrorist ones,” Zas said.
He added that these groups were seriously trained and clearly trained. At the same time, according to the CSTO Secretary General, a large number of weapons were used during the riots, and not only those that were stolen from weapons stores or taken from police officers. Zas noted that “apparently, there were also weapons prepared in advance.”
During the riots in Kazakhstan, according to the latest data, more than 4.5 thousand people were injured. 225 participants died. Among them, according to the head of the Criminal Prosecution Service of the General Prosecutor's Office of Kazakhstan Serik Shalabaev, 19 policemen and military personnel.
