Lawyer Alexander Pervushin, representing the football club CSKA, commented on the appeal to the court of the Irkutsk firm Beta, which filed an application demanding to declare the army team bankrupt. His words are quoted by Sport24.
Pervushin said that the Beta company has no grounds to go to court with such a statement, since the club is fulfilling its obligations as a debtor. He explained that representatives of CSKA filed a complaint and a motion to suspend the judgment of the appellate instance, which was upheld. “Such behavior of opponents looks like an attempt to put pressure on us,” the lawyer emphasized.
Beta filed a bankruptcy petition against CSKA on December 28. The lawsuit is related to the construction of the home stadium of the army club “VEB-Arena”. The company said that the club is making attempts to evade the execution of the judicial act. Prior to this, the court collected from CSKA the amount of debt in the amount of 348.453 million rubles, but then the execution of the decision was suspended pending consideration of the cassation appeal.
The VEB-Arena stadium was opened on September 12, 2016. Its construction cost is estimated at $ 350 million.
