Over the Baltic Sea, an air battle was practiced with Su-35S fighters.

The pilots made a flight from Karelia to the Kaliningrad region, covering more than 3 thousand km. They completed their assigned tasks in the non-orientated space of the Baltic Sea, the press service of the Western Military District reported.

“During the training flights, elements of complex aerobatics were performed and aircraft control at extremely low altitudes, group and single air combat were practiced. The flights took place in the daytime and at night,” the exercise report says.

The Su-35S is a modernized version of one of the main fighters of the Russian Aerospace Forces, the Su-35. This military aircraft, in turn, is a transitional link between the Su-27 and Su-57.
