The USS coastal zone ship Milwaukee interrupted the voyage due to an outbreak of coronavirus among the crew on board. This was announced by the American 4th Fleet, reports RIA Novosti.

“The USS Milwaukee (LCS 5) Freedom-class littoral warship remains in port as a number of sailors tested positive for COVID-19,” the Navy said.

They added that the entire crew was vaccinated, and did not specify the number of cases. Some of them have mild symptoms.

Earlier, the Politico newspaper reported that the US authorities are preparing for new outbreaks of coronavirus due to the discovery of a new omicron strain and are developing plans for this case. In addition, they discussed the timing of the closure of entry from southern Africa, the return home of US citizens and the need to change the recommendations in the field of health.
