Court upholds fine for TikTok for refusing to remove prohibited content
The Tagansky Court of Moscow upheld the decision to impose a fine on TikTok for refusing to delete prohibited information. The amount of the sanction was 1.5 million rubles. This is reported by TASS with reference to the press secretary of the court Zulfiya Gurimchuk.
“The court rejected TikTok’s complaint against the magistrate’s court decision on a fine of 1.5 million rubles under the article for refusing to delete prohibited information,” she said.
In late spring, the Moscow Magistrates' Court found the TikTok short video service guilty of an administrative violation under the article “Refusal of the owner of a website or information resource to remove information if the obligation to remove such information is provided for by Russian legislation.” It is about the non-deletion of materials that contained calls for the participation of minors in unauthorized actions on January 31, held in violation of order.
As a result, the company was ordered to pay a fine of 1.5 million rubles. At the same time, in April, the social network was fined 2.6 million rubles for the same offense.
Earlier, Zulfiya Grinchuk reported that TikTok and Google paid 6.1 million rubles in fines in Russia.
