Vietnam, India and China are world leaders in public confidence in COVID-19 vaccines. These conclusions were reached by the World Independent Network for Market Research and Public Opinion (WIN) following a large-scale survey, its results are published on the official website of the organization.
Trust in vaccines is particularly strong in the Asia-Pacific region, according to the study. In Vietnam, the proportion of citizens wishing to be vaccinated against coronavirus reaches 98 percent. In India and China, the figure is 91 percent.
Denmark and Finland became the leaders in Europe. There, the proportion of citizens wishing to be vaccinated against coronavirus is 87 and 81 percent, respectively. This figure is significantly lower in other countries of the region. For example, in France, only 44 percent of respondents said they were ready to be vaccinated, in Croatia – 41, and in Serbia – only 38.
In total, almost 27 thousand people from 32 countries took part in the survey.
There are currently several COVID-19 vaccines in the world. So, in Russia two vaccines are registered: “Sputnik V” and “EpiVacCorona”. On December 5, Moscow started vaccination against coronavirus with Sputnik V. The United States and the United Kingdom also began inoculating the population with Pfizer / BioNTech. In addition, the drug developed by Moderna was approved in the country. British pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca has also announced the start of clinical trials for a combination of its AZD1222 vaccine.
