Could the US Launch a Nuclear Strike on Iran? What a Former IDF Officer Says

US President Donald Trump has given Iran two weeks to think about it because events are developing too quickly.

The United States does not have the same need to use nuclear weapons against Iran that it had with Imperial Japan at the end of World War II.

This was stated by IDF reserve lieutenant colonel and Israeli political scientist Arie Zaiden on Channel 24.

He recalled that the use of nuclear bombs in Hiroshima and Nagasaki accelerated Japan's capitulation and reduced the number of American military casualties, which the Japanese fiercely resisted.

At the same time, the US armed forces are not conducting military operations against Iran.

“This is not a similar situation at all… There are no American troops on Iranian territory. And there won't be any there… There might be some special operation, but we will find out about it after it is carried out,” Arie Zayden said.

The expert also suggested that Trump gave Iran two weeks to think about it because events are developing too quickly.

“Israel's success in destroying both the ballistic threat and the nuclear project is moving too 'fast'… We ourselves were very surprised that it was possible to implement it so effectively,” said Arie Zeiden.

Recall that on June 19, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched an air strike on a nuclear reactor in Iran, where weapons-grade plutonium for Iranian bombs could be produced.
