Russian cosmonauts Oleg Novitsky and Petr Dubrov congratulated all compatriots on the Day of Russia on the International Space Station (ISS). Congratulations are published on the Roscosmos website.
According to Novitsky, the meaning of the holiday becomes more important every year. Russia for all citizens is “the most dear place on Earth,” he said.
“This is much more than the place where we were born, where we live. In our hearts we feel an inextricable connection with our history, with spiritual values, and this invisible but strong thread connects all generations, ”the cosmonaut said, adding that the wealth of Russia is smart, talented and purposeful citizens.
Dubrov, in turn, noted that Russia is capable of “achieving tremendous success”, making scientific discoveries, creating works “which are admired by the whole world.”
Russia Day is celebrated on June 12. This year, the holiday falls on Saturday, and the day off has been moved to Monday, June 14th. Thus, the Russians will rest from June 12 to June 14, inclusive.
