In European countries, vaccination of citizens against coronavirus began on December 27, writes TASS.

Residents of Germany, France, Spain, Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Spain and Italy will receive vaccinations against COVID-19. Vaccination will be voluntary and free of charge for citizens of all countries.

At the first stage, each of the countries of the European Union (EU) will be able to vaccinate fewer than five thousand people from priority populations. Mass vaccinations will not begin until spring. Now the only drugs approved by the European regulator are a joint development of Pfizer and BioNTech.

Earlier, Germany received the first coronavirus vaccination as part of a mass vaccination. A 101-year-old woman from a nursing home in Halberstadt, Saxony-Anhalt received the vaccine. In total, 40 out of 59 residents were vaccinated at the nursing home, as well as ten employees and the center's managing director.

There are currently several COVID-19 vaccines in the world. So, in Russia two vaccines are registered: “Sputnik V” and “EpiVacCorona”. On December 5, Moscow started vaccination against coronavirus with Sputnik V. The United States and the United Kingdom also began inoculating the population with Pfizer / BioNTech.
