The publication Nature has published disturbing results of a study by scientists from the University of Washington School of Medicine. So, experts found out that the coronavirus is deadly even for those people who have recovered from it.
As part of the scientific work, the researchers studied information on 87 thousand patients with COVID-19 and five million people from the control group. Subsequently, it was found that even those patients who had had a mild coronavirus infection have an increased risk of death. Moreover, the likelihood of dying is higher for those who are seriously ill.
Scientists have calculated that within the first six months after recovery from the new type of coronavirus, the probability of death increases by almost 60% compared to the general population.
