The Finnish Ministry of Social Affairs and Health has warned that the coronavirus is spreading again at an accelerated rate in the country after several months of relative calm. Reported by Reuters.
The Finnish authorities said that the number of cases detected over the past two weeks rose sharply to 798. For comparison, in the previous similar period of time, there were half as many cases of COVID-19 – 387. At the same time, the country remains one of the best in Europe for this indicator.
Earlier it was reported that from October 28, Finland will close borders with neighboring countries – Sweden and Norway. Such measures are due to the high incidence rates in Sweden and Norway. The rules will not yet apply to work trips, you can also enter the country “for family reasons.” Before that, the Finnish authorities once again refused to open external borders for visitors from Russia.
According to the latest data, 9.3 thousand people are infected with the coronavirus in Finland. 343 infected people died.
