On November 27th, Flamengo Rio de Janeiro and Palmeiras Sao Paulo will play in the final of the Copa Libertadores.
The final of the Copa Libertadores is called Flamengo Rio de Janeiro against Palmeiras Sao Paulo and is again a purely Brazilian one. Flamengo can especially thank Bruno Henrique. As in the first leg, the striker scored both goals for Flamengos 2-0 (1-0) success at Barcelona SC Guayaquil on Wednesday (local time) in Guayaquil (Ecuador). The traditional club from Rio also won the first leg 2-0.
Palmeiras scored 1-1 (0-0) at Atletico Mineiro in Belo Horizonte on Tuesday and reached the final thanks to the away goal scored. The Copa Libertadores is the South American counterpart to the Champions League.
This means that the defending champion (Palmeiras) and the 2019 winner (Flamengo) will meet in the final scheduled for November 27 at the Estadio Centenario in Montevideo. The two clubs from the rival metropolises of Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro are among the most successful and most willing to invest in Brazilian football in recent years and are each aiming for their third Copa Libertadores victory.
