Cooperation between Russia and the DPRK: can the West stop it?

~6 0~p>North Korea continues to increase military cooperation with Russia. This is evidenced by Putin's visit to Pyongyang, which will take place on June 18 and 19.

The United States expressed concern about the deepening of relations between Russia and the DPRK. The head of the Center for Military Legal Studies, Alexander Musienko, spoke about how the United States could prevent a rapprochement between Putin and Kim Jong-un.

He said this in a comment to Channel 24.

According to him, it is difficult for Washington to prevent the ever-deepening cooperation between Pyongyang and Moscow. At one time, the United States failed to prevent the emergence of nuclear weapons in the DPRK.

“And we want them to prevent this rapprochement. In fact, there are not many tools in the United States. Sanctions and pressure have not worked and will not work. It is impossible to carry out a military operation, at least now,” – he explained.

One possible way out of the situation, according to Musienko, is to try to come to an understanding with China so that it puts pressure on North Korea. It is possible to find ways of mutual understanding with the DPRK. In particular, in matters of lifting sanctions from Pyongyang.

“The West needs to show flexibility on this issue. Western countries and even Ukraine can make proposals, not necessarily public, regarding not continuing to impose sanctions against North Korea and lifting existing ones,” he noted.

In exchange for this, Pyongyang will not supply Russia with shells. Because one of Kim Je-un’s motivations and arguments is that his country is in poor economic condition, it does not have the opportunity to sell its own products, and is losing international markets.

“Her only saving path is to sell weapons to Russia, receiving in return both money and food, agricultural products, technologies, in particular for satellites. In order to oust Russia from the DPRK, it is necessary to offer the Koreans more profitable conditions,” says Alexander Musienko.

Recall that earlier the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky said that Iran and the DPRK openly supply weapons to the occupying forces of Russia.
