The consumer confidence indicator fell to minus 17.6 in November

The mood of consumers in the euro area has deteriorated further amid the worsening corona crisis. The barometer for consumer confidence fell in November by 2.1 points to minus 17.6 points, according to data published by the EU Commission on Friday. The barometer was thus below its long-term average of minus 11.2 points.

The economy in the monetary union grew at a record rate in the third quarter. But after the rising number of corona infections and the lockdowns in many countries, the economic outlook for the euro zone has already deteriorated again.
