Russian biathlete Eduard Latypov explained his mistake during the individual 20 km race at the World Cup stage in Ostersund, Sweden. His words are quoted by Match TV.
The athlete said that at that moment he thought and focused on something else, but missed the important thing. Latypov explained that it was good for him, as he received a new experience. “It happens that you focus on one thing and miss something important. Moments like these help you become stronger. This is a very good training session, ”the biathlete emphasized.
The incident took place on November 27. The 27-year-old mixed up the finish lines on the last loop. Instead of the finish line, Latypov went to the firing line. Due to a mistake, he lost time and lost chances for medals in the race. As a result, he took seventh place.
