From 9 to 13 August, Sirius will host the Conference of world-class international mathematical centers. More than 600 Russian mathematicians will take part in the event, about 300 people will join the conference online. The main goal of the conference was to intensify mathematical research in Russia – the participants will share their scientific achievements and discuss topical scientific problems.
The conference is held on the initiative of the rector of Moscow State University Viktor Sadovnichy, nominated in February this year. The organizer of the event is the Talent and Success Foundation, and among the participants there are researchers from leading Russian mathematical centers. During the conference, 15 plenary reports will be presented, as well as more than 300 section reports.
Supporting young mathematicians also became one of the goals of the meeting. Experts will separately discuss the speeches of participants under 35 years old to determine the recipients of the grant for participation in the St. Petersburg International Congress of Mathematicians in 2022. In addition, the conference will announce the winners of the Prize for Young Mathematicians of Russia, established by the Sirius Educational Center – specialists will receive awards from the Fields Prize winners Stanislav Smirnov and Andrey Okunkov.
