König already had to pass on Sport1 in two “one-two-pass” programs. It is now clear that there will be no quick comeback either. On Friday, Germany will play in the World Cup qualifiers at home against Romania, next Monday against North Macedonia. Laura Papendick will stand in for König.
According to RTL, it is “not a serious illness, but a short professional break is necessary to ensure his speedy recovery.” König complained about “malaise”, and the doctors prescribed bed rest and a screen break. According to “Bild”, cardiovascular problems are the cause. König is currently going through several medical checks. König presented Formula 1 together with Niki Lauda for more than 20 years.
