Specialists of the technology company DeepMind announced that computers will be used to find a cure for rare diseases.
It is reported that the new model based on artificial intelligence will be used to counter the most deadly parasitic diseases. According to experts, many diseases are associated with the role of proteins in catalysis. At the same time, awareness of the three-dimensional structure of the protein will help to implement methods of treatment for various diseases, including cancer, infectious, and dementia.
“ We are excited about the potential of this technology to help fill some of the gaps in our understanding of biology and accelerate research and development to create effective new therapies for disease. We hope AlphaFold will have a real impact on our understanding of disease and drug discovery for communities that are in dire need of treatment, ” DeepMind shared.
