The Russian government intends to completely transfer all civil servants and state employees to domestic messengers, mail and video-conferencing services (VCS). In 2022, communication between teachers, parents, schoolchildren and students will also be transferred online. Thus, the authorities want to make the education system independent of Western developments and strengthen the online component in education.
The Ministry of Digital Industry plans to prepare the corresponding regulatory framework by the end of 2021, Kommersant reports. Information about this is contained in the action plan of the state program “Creation of additional conditions for the development of the information technology industry”, which the relevant department has already sent for approval to the Cabinet.
The concept of the project involves the development of services for operational data exchange, including during remote work. The Ministry of Education, together with the Ministry of Digital Science, is now preparing approaches to the use of Russian software.
As reported by “DP” last week, in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic in Russia, the relevance of distance education and the transfer of university lectures to the online format has sharply increased. According to experts, up to 40% of training can be conducted using distance technologies without sacrificing quality.
Distance learning of students using online technologies should be used as an additional educational tool, believes Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Pyotr Tolstoy.
