Newcomer Joaquin Correa became the match winner. The Argentine, whose loan transfer from league rivals Lazio Rome was only fixed on Thursday evening, scored after being substituted in the finish in a double (83rd, 94th).

Lautaro Martinez (47th) had equalized Verona's opening goal through Ivan Ilic (15th). Valentino Lazaro, who was on the sidelines at Inter, was not in the Milan squad. A buyer should be found for the Styrian by the end of the transfer next Tuesday.
