Transport collapse continues in Russia – from July 5 to 7, airlines cancelled 485 flights, and another 1,900 were delayed. Thousands of people are sleeping on airport floors and demanding free “smoking rooms”.

This is reported by propaganda media, 24 Kanal reports. However, Rosaviatsia has already stated that everything is currently operating “in normal mode.”

What's Happening at Airports

On the third day of the transport collapse in Russia, more than 7 thousand passengers are still unable to fly out of St. Petersburg.

At the local Pulkovo airport, more than 100 flights were delayed from 2 to 6 hours, and another 30 were cancelled.

There are also problems in Moscow – at Sheremetyevo people are sleeping right on the floor. At least 67 flights have been delayed. The reason is said to be the threat of drones; 8 drones were shot down in the region last night.

Despite the collapse, Rosaviatsiya said that all airports in the country are now operating normally, accepting and sending flights. “Russia's air transport system has demonstrated resilience to outside interference,” the organization insists.

There were also some conflicts – passengers at Pulkovo revolted against a paid smoking area. A rapid response team had to be called in.

The airport says they can't make the “smoking room” free even temporarily, otherwise there will be a crush. The ventilation system is supposedly designed for only 6 people.

By the way, a total of 43,000 forced ticket refunds were processed, 94,000 people were accommodated in hotels, and the amount of vouchers provided for drinks and food is 354,000 rubles.

Recall that on July 7, it became known that Russian Minister of Transport Roman Starovoit had resigned, but the reasons for his dismissal were not officially announced. The corresponding decree was signed by Vladimir Putin, and the document was published on the Kremlin website.
