After several previous stages of the IBU Biathlon World Cup, the coach of the Moldovan national team Venseslav Iliev spoke about the tasks, who stand in front of the team.
Iliev noted that in the last season 2020/2021 there were difficulties with the preparation associated with the spread of the pandemic, as well as with the organizational moments at the training camp.
According to the coach, the Federation did everything possible to help the national team prepare for the current season.
& # 8212; This year, thanks to the Federation, personally to President Dmitry Torner, who helped a lot, we managed to prepare for the season in a more concentrated manner and without significant problems, & # 8212; said Iliev.
Despite the fact that the Moldovan biathletes failed to enter the top 40 following the results of the past stages, Iliev believes that this period of preparation of the national team is being implemented according to the plan.

Iliev said that the plan for the preparation of the national team was drawn up with an eye to the Winter Olympics in Beijing , which starts in early February 2022. Athletes are challenged to show good results in order to obtain Olympic licenses.
& # 8212; Both the federation and its president, Dmitry Torner, set the main task – to obtain Olympic licenses, to compete in Beijing with at least 2 male and 2 female quotas, & # 8212; said the coach of the Moldova national team.
When asked why he decided to head the Moldova national team, Iliev replied that he made this decision deliberately, as the goal was to work for the future.
& # 8212; I accepted this offer, and my task was to conduct selection, prepare the team to achieve better results, first of all & # 8212; with an eye on the Beijing Olympics, & # 8212; said Ventsislav Iliev.
