RIA Novosti: protesters beat police officers in the center of Almaty

Clashes between protesters and police began in the center of Almaty, RIA Novosti reported. According to the agency's correspondent, the protesters beat several police officers.
It is noted that the security forces, in turn, use special means against the protesters.
Earlier it was reported that the protesters are again taking to the streets of Almaty, where clashes with the police took place the night before. Law enforcement officers took up positions at key infrastructure facilities of the city.
Protests in Kazakhstan began on January 2 due to rising fuel prices. On Tuesday, January 4, protesters clashed with security forces on Republic Square in Almaty. Law enforcers used tear gas and stun grenades to disperse the protests.
In Alma-Ata, as well as Almaty and Mangistau regions, there is an emergency regime until January 19 and a curfew from 23.00 to 7.00.
